Daniel Osorio is a multidisciplinary filmmaker and creative storyteller whose work bridges cinema, technology, and anthropology. With over a decade of experience in directing, writing, and post-production, his films explore the complex relationship between humans, technology, and nature — always with a strong sense of purpose and visual poetry.
Driven by curiosity and a passion for narrative experimentation, Daniel has written, directed, and produced several award-winning projects, including Technological Independence, a four-season documentary series (48 episodes) that investigates the impact of innovation and self-reliance in Latin America’s creative industries. His mockumentary The Blue Llama’s Secret Message cleverly blends humor and science fiction to address immigration and xenophobia — earning selections and prizes in multiple international film festivals.
Recently, Daniel has focused on projects exploring the Amazon rainforest and the preservation of its cultural and ecological heritage, including a new documentary that combines real footage, storytelling, and AI-generated visuals to raise awareness about environmental balance and biodiversity.
A passionate explorer of emerging tools, Daniel has embraced AI-assisted filmmaking to push the boundaries of visual storytelling. His recent experiments with platforms like Runway, HeyGen, Dzine, Fliki, and Kling AI have allowed him to blend cinematic realism with digital imagination, creating immersive and thought-provoking audiovisual experiences.
Beyond cinema, Daniel co-founded delAmazonas.com, an online encyclopedia dedicated to the Amazon basin, which now publishes over 600 articles authored by experts such as Dr. Rafael Cartay (Ph.D., Université Paris I – Panthéon-Sorbonne). The project reflects his commitment to education, sustainability, and the preservation of indigenous knowledge — values that deeply influence his cinematic vision.
Whether behind the camera or in the editing suite, Daniel seeks to capture the unseen connections — between people, technology, and the natural world — crafting films that inspire reflection, empathy, and change. (See experience and samples of my work on eportfolio)
